WHAT A DUMP!!!!!!!! – This HORROR could not be a worse experience in anyway. Filthy restuarant, waiters with attitude and food that is tasteless, stale and just plain VILE! Portions are minute, but after eating this dreck, who really cares?
When asked for bread and butter with my entree (since the entree was so small,) I was charged for it. My companion ordered a cranberry juice and was given a juice glass for $4.00. The special was chicken croquettes- I asked the feminine waiter if it was worth ordering and was told me yes. I took my chance, and was horrified to find deep fried breadcrumbs with onions- chicken was totally absent. My companion order the broiled haddock- less than a portion for a kitty and totally dried out. The Manager, was wearing clothes that had stains on her behind- not sure if it was food or diaherra!!!!
This place was rated by Zagut but I never saw the rating. Obviously after the horrible experience, I am sure that Zagut rated it super LOW.
Save your time and money- McDonald's is TOTALLY gourmet compared to this Flaming Filthy Dump!
Lousy food and even lousier service with waiters giving "A"ttitude – The first time we went there, we had fruit salad which came with yogurt and a warm muffin which was good. But the burger was well done when we asked for medium and the grilled bun was kind of stale. There were 3 waiters there and 2 waiters were not friendly at all.
So we wanted to give it another chance when we had breakfast/lunch. Boy, was it a mistake! The place was totally under-staffed. It took half an hour for a simple order to arrive and the food was awful: the bread was cold and burnt. And the eggs cold and overcooked.
The waiter disappeared after he delivered the food. Never refilled our glasses of water or asked us how the food was. And when he did show up again, we complained that it wasn't his fault but the food was cold and burnt and overcooked. He basically just shrugged and said what do you want me to do. He was not gracious and did not apologize for the bad food. Nor did he offer us something else or take the items off the bill. And then he just threw our credit card to the table.
We've been in town for a week and we eat out almost every meal. And this is the ONLY place in Provincetown that disappoints us with the lousy food and even lousier service with waiters giving you "A"ttitude. Our prediction: this place will not be here next year. When you're on vacation, you don't need that, especially when there are tons of other great places with great services in town.
View + Food = Great, The rest = not so good. – Went here this past weekend on a trip to P-Town. We usually go to the same place everytime but we decided to branch out. What made us go in was the menu that we saw outside. Great wine list and very large menu (unlike alot of the restaurants there). We went around 7:30 and were sat fairly quickly. We were sat in the back room and had a great view of the waterfront.
My friend and I had already ate a late-ish lunch we were running out of cash (the cape is lovely but so damn expensive) so we were planning on splitting something. Until we saw on the menu that if you split something they will add $8 to your bill! That was just the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I don't know, maybe this is a common thing, but it's the first time I have seen it and I was appalled. I ended up getting Cheese Raviolis and chicken in a red pepper cream sauce. The ravilois were amazing the chicken not so much and the sauce needed lots of salt/pepper. However my friend got the crab cakes and she loved them! Oh, but before for an appetizer we got this moon crustinis with ricotta and mozzarella in them - yum yum.
Our waiter was awesome, but the woman who took our check from us (I think it was Betty) was really rude when my friend wanted to pay some of the bill with her credit card. Like it was the hugest inconvienence in the world. Sorry not all of your diners are rich Cape Codders, some of us have real jobs and just graduated from college.
Overall though it was yummy, but certainly not a place we'll go back to.
Next time we're getting pizza at the place across the street that smelled so good (and probably would have left us with more cash).
