In Short – This is the place to see and be seen. The dining room is open and noisy with upscale, hippie art on the walls. A boisterous bar heats up at night. If you don't spot star chef Ben deForest in the open kitchen, you'll probably catch him schmoozing at the next table. Menu items, featuring fresh local ingredients, are mostly from the sea, but options like the roasted pork loin is a perfect save for the landlubbers.

It is now the Oyster Bar Grill. Excellent if pricey food with friendly service in a great athmosphere. Recommend highly

I go there almost every night the food its great i don't know why people keep saying its bad they're are people there every night loving the food. great staff nice, huge wine list too. trust me i know. let me get to the point here it may be a a tinny bit pricey but its TOTALLY worth it thats all i wanted to say :) :)

Inattentive and rude service

I?ve never written a review before, but wanted to write about my negative experience at Balance. The food was terrible and the staff was inattentive and outright rude. Furthermore, the prices are expensive. I want to spare everyone of the mistake we made by dining there, do yourself a favor and skip Balance Restaurant.

Look Good:
Because deForest was once chef to the stars--both in their homes (Bruce Willis) and in public (the now-defunct, star-magnet Red Cat)--this is a great place for spotting celebs. But keep yourself contained--remember, they're on vacation, too.
Parking:
Parking is difficult in cramped OB, but it's always best to avoid Circuit Avenue. Try getting a space around the gazebo or along the beach.
Know Before You Go:
The dinner menu is available until 10pm, the bar menu, until midnight.
