Beachy

by jerrymcgwire

One of my favorite beaches on the eastcoast. The sand is that great, but the water and view are marvelous

Cape Cod

Beautiful but crowded. Maybe east coast folks are just used to this. I think this takes away from the beauty if you have to wait in traffic and fight your way out the Cape.

Cape Great

by kat86

CapeCod is a beauiful place, especially the beaches. They're arent a ton of people just going to just get a tan. They are actually enjoying the beauty.I just moved to Florida after living on Cape, my whole life yeah Florida has nice sand, and pretty water, but I wouldn't swim in it. First off warm water makes me feel as though there is something in it. Cape's water is not cold, your just not from here. I live on the panhandle right now, and my mother grew up here, and she still thinks that nothing can stop Cape Cods beauty. Hawaii is a very beautiful place, but what island isnt? Too many tourists. And as for no snacks, thats crazy, this is the Cape not Hollywood, nobody is going to bring it for you.Cape Cod is swarming with especially near the NSS with great places to snack, or even stop for dinner. It has some on the top 10 places.

Explore lighthouses, freshwater ponds and saltwater beaches on this breathtaking stretch of historic land.

by Contributor

Overview
Henry David Thoreau hiked much of Cape Cod in another century, but there is precious little of the region he would recognize today. The exception is a 44,000-acre stretch of ocean, bay beaches, marshes, woodlands and moors. Established in 1961, the Cape Cod National Seashore is 40 miles long, stretching from Chatham to Provincetown.

The Appeal
The Cape's human history is just as rich as its natural history. In Provincetown, you can visit the place where the Pilgrims landed in 1620 before sailing across the bay to Plymouth. The National Seashore also has several historic buildings that reflect residents' longtime association with the sea, like the Old Harbor Lifesaving Station in Provincetown. Captain Edward Penniman's 1868 house in Eastham is atypically ornate, a sign of the once-profitable whaling business. Nauset Light is one of five lighthouses within the Seashore.

Cape Cod Beaches

by cadoyle13

The National Sea Shore is one of New England's treasures. It is pristine as it is beautiful. I can not compare to other beaches of the more tropical variety but it has its own unique beauty. The dunes, the water, the rocky bottom to the water are all unique to the area. Cape Cod is without doubt one of the most beautiful places God created.

Stay away

Dont come to the Cape beaches, they stink and you wont like them. Those responsible for "leaking" this outrageous #1 rating should be found and held accountable. Were supposed to keep this secret to ourselves remember?

Watch out!!

by masskid

Hey guys, Ive lived on the South Shore of Mass. my whole life, and we owned a condo in Harwich, (Mid cape.) Id spend all my summers there, and yes it is a load of fun BUT.. if you ever plan on going to Nauset Beach, a VERY popular tourist area, or anyother popular beach for that matter, do NOT go in mid august!! There are greenheads (biting flies) that will litteraly swarm you and ruin the day at the beach. They don't seem to be bad at all during July, so that's when I would plan to visit the Cape. Just a heads up!

Cape Cod - True Beauty

by sunbabe201

I grew up on Cape Cod, and it truly is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. Now that Ive been away at College, I appreciate the Cape so much more, I wouldn't want to move any where else. Beaches on the outer Cape are breathtaking, with amazing views and plenty of opportunities to see seals. The beachs along the bay are my favorite, the water is always clear with no seaweed and warm water temperatures. Anyone is does't think that a Cape Cod beach doesn't belong on the U.S top ten list obviously doesn't understand true beauty.

Oh, and no drinks and no snacks for kids, what are you talking about?!?!?!

Cahoon Hollow Beach -- Not to Be Missed!

by cgwenplay

Contrary to other reviews on here, I would like say that Cape Cod is spectacular -- and it is NOT freezing! The weather and water are delightful from June - September -- perhaps a shorter season than other beach spots -- but the drama and natural beauty of the sandy cliffs that Eastham and Wellfleet's beaches boast surely is worth the trip!

You will not be disappointed with these outstanding beaches!

Tsinatlanta, more like B.S.inatlanta

by mpawlak

The Florida Panhandle is cool...if you're a fan of tank tops and cut off jeans. Cape Cod is THE place for beaches, sans meatheads. Quite possibly the most beautiful place in the world because of the area's rich history and conservationist practices. Also, the landscape isn't riddled with tourist traps every 5 feet hawking everingthing from sunscreen to postcards of topless women with alligators. The water's too cold? Suck it up...or go to the bay.
