An Eternity

My wife and brother in law decided to go to The Oyster Company Raw Bar & Grill this past Saturday. We arrived at 7:00pm and were told that there would be a 30 to 35 minute wait for a table. We sat at the bar and had a few oysers and drinks which were very good. The bartender was nice and the oysters were great. After 45 minutes at the bar, we were seated. We were seated at a table right next to the kitchen and 2 waitresses knocked into my shoulder while going back and forth. It took 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive and about 20 before bread was even put on the table. Long story made short, after two and a half hours from when we walked in, our dinners arrived. We ate them in 10 minutes and left. I do not think I'll ever go back. They did comp one round of drinks but over 2 hours before getting served!!!???? Although the service was under par, the food was delicious.
Oysters and More -- Same location as other listing

First rate. For some reason, there are two addresses for this restaurant, but both lead to the same location.
The Oyster Company Raw Bar and Grille is the place to go in Dennis when on the Cape.

Like Neptune and B & G, The Oyster Company has a variety of Oysters including the award winning Quivet Neck Oysters that one of the owners grows himself. Service is professional and pleasant. You have to try the Sashimi Oysters which are to die for. They have a full menu of seafood and other things like fillet MIgnon. but the daily specials menu really shines. Prices range from about $9 to $26. The atmosphere was not the typical Cape Cod thing (captains chairs, fish nets etc).Cool colors and original artwork on the walls, Bamboo floors. We were there last Sunday afternoon when they had a weekly jazz jam session going on. Sounds like an amateur hour kind of thing but we were surprised to hear talented musicians the likes of which we would pay $25 at Scullers to see. This was free!
One note on the directions: the actual address is 202 Depot Street, Dennisport although it may also be 17 South Street because of its corner location.
This place is a gem. I only hope it doesn't become too crowded this Summer.
- Pros: any of the oyster dishes
- Cons: not located in Boston
